- Doom Patrol (Berlanti Productions, Jeremy Carver Productions, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television) – follows the unlikely heroes of the eponymous team who all received their powers through tragic circumstances and are generally shunned by society. Most members of the team were treated by the Chief, a medical doctor who gave them residence in his mansion to help protect them from the outside world…from Wikipedia.
- FireFly (Mutant Enemy Productions, 20th Century Fox Television) – The show explores the lives of a group of people, some of whom fought on the losing side of a civil war, who make a living on the fringes of society as part of the pioneer culture of their star system. In this future, the only two surviving superpowers, the United States and China, fused to form the central federal government, called the Alliance, resulting in the fusion of the two cultures…from Wikipedia.

- Green Book (Participant Media, DreamWorks Pictures, Reliance Entertainment, Innisfree Pictures, Cinetic Media, Alibaba Pictures) – In 1962 New York City, bouncer Tony Lip searches for new employment while the Copacabana is closed for renovations. He is invited to an interview with Dr. Don Shirley, a black pianist in need of a driver for his eight-week concert tour through the Midwest and Deep South. Don hires Tony on the strength of his references. They embark with plans to return to New York City on Christmas Eve. Don’s record label gives Tony a copy of the Green Book, a guide for African-American travelers to find motels, restaurants, and filling stations that would serve them…from Wikipedia.
- Wild Rose (Fable Pictures, Creative Scotland, Film4 Productions, British Film Institute) – Rose-Lynn Harlan, aspiring country singer and single mother of two from Glasgow, is released after a year in prison for attempted drug smuggling after throwing a package of heroin over the wall into HM Prison Cornton Vale despite claiming that she did not know what was in the package…from Wikipedia.
- Rogue One (Lucasfilm Ltd.) – Set a week before A New Hope, the plot follows a group of rebels who band together to steal plans of the Death Star, the ultimate weapon of the Galactic Empire. - Ford v Ferrari (Chernin Entertainment,TSG Entertainment, Turnpike Films) – The plot follows a determined team of American and British engineers and designers, led by automotive designer Carroll Shelby and his British driver, Ken Miles, who are dispatched by Henry Ford II and Lee Iacocca with the mission of building the Ford GT40, a new racing car with the potential to finally defeat the perennially dominant Italian racing team Scuderia Ferrari at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France…from Wikipedia.

- Serenity (Universal Pictures, Barry Mendel Productions) – is the story of the crew of Serenity, a “Firefly-class” spaceship.
