Hi Clubbers!
That’s right! We’re back and this is our first meeting of the season.
Lots of thanks to the clubbers that joined us in in real-time at Tequila’s and online. Everyone is always welcome. Bring your questions and topics. Lets help each other.
Today we had a great meeting. Lots of good info. Some of topics we covered are:
- A possible new VPN to use for Netflix USA. One of our casual members turned me on to a VPN service that currently is working for Amazon Prime and NetFlix USA. It’s website is: https://torguard.net/. (I haven’t tried it yet, so I don’t know much about it.)
- Trump and Clinton fail social media background checks – Cnet hired Social Intelligence to run background checks using social media and both candidates scores made them unreliable hires. (read the article here: https://www.cnet.com/news/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-social-media-twitter-fail-facebook-instagram/).
- LifeHacker has an article on how to stream the Vice Presidential Debates tonight. I am not sure if all these things will work internationally, but the list of options can be found here: http://lifehacker.com/how-to-stream-tonights-vice-presidential-debate-online-1787389248?utm_campaign=socialflow_lifehacker_twitter&utm_source=lifehacker_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow.
- LifeHacker has a PSA: Amazon Will Bill Your ‘Amazon Prime’ Renewal to Any Card On Your Account. Check it out here: http://twocents.lifehacker.com/psa-amazon-will-bill-your-prime-renewal-to-any-card-on-1787376339?rev=1475540674323.
- and a little discussion about webhosting services and my recommendation to use: https://www.squarespace.com/.
Well, I guess that just about covers it. We have a lot of fun. Hope to see you all again next Tuesday.
Thanks for listening, and Tech On!

This meeting is dedicated to James Telshaw. A good neighbor, a good friend, and an uncomplaining provider of bandwidth for our audio stream. My family and I will miss him.
